Free Art Friday: Spreading a Little Sunshine

Free Art Friday is a weekly event all over the world where artists place a piece out in the public to be seen and taken home.  What a way to make someone's day!  This week I left the above piece at a Walmart.  I decided the craft aisle was the best place.. anyone buying art supplies in this awful weather deserves a little extra boost today.  (Did you know it's colder here in Texas than it is in Alaska?)

I can't wait to see if I hear back from the person who picks this up.  But would you do me a favor?  Leave a kind thought here for whomever it is... a prayer or a blessing.  Mine is that they be filled with warmth on this cold day.  ♥

  3. Well, I had to sort of sneak around... I didn't want anyone to see me leaving it. Not being seen in Walmart is a bit difficult!

It felt good.. but I'll feel better if I know it's in someone's hands and not in the garbage!

  6. What a fabulous and heart warming thing you ahve done! Do please let us all know if you hear back from the person who might have picked it up!

Back in the day, the homeless people in my city used to go thru the rubbish bins looking for food. When I was going to college, I used to wrap up half of my lunch and rest it on the side of the bin (where it was more or less cleanish) in case someone was hungry.

Random acts (well, halfway planned acts!) of kindness are the only way to travel :)

    Bravo to you!

  7. This is just too wonderful. Good for you. I wonder what happened to the painting. Where is it's new home. Who is enjoying now. Your imagination could really go wild with this. So awesome

  8. What a gorgeous way to brighten a stranger's day. Bet everyone thought there was a catch to to and afraid to pick it up!! A gift of warm cheerful colours. How generous of you. Let's know if the recipient got back to you.
