Free Art Friday: The Pursuit

Happiness is a butterfly, which, when pursued,
is always just beyond your grasp,
but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.
~ Nathaniel Hawthorne\

  1. In the Spring of this year, I went through a couple of rough months (my sick pet Leo) I've never experienced anything like this before, and I was really down, but through it I learned lessons of how to appreciate the smaller things in life, which I don't know if I ever truly would have, and because of this I'm very happy right NOW!
    Thank You Leo!
P.S. Your box is on its way!!

  3. My happiest most unexpected moment was at my recent birthday gathering when my son and his very very pregnant wife showed up unexpectedly and surprised me. They had driven 14 hrs the night before to be there!!!! I screamed so loud and long my son said "I didn't know it was going to be like being on the Oprah show!"

Your art is all so pretty! And this now useful too.

  6. It was the week before Christmas and the man I had loved all my adult life was about to leave on a plane to spend it with another woman. I was devastated and alone. I couldn't stand to be in the house with so many memories so I stood outside and cried my eyes out and poured my heart out to God. Then I looked up to the heavens beseeching Him for help. The most beautiful sight... the clearest, most star-filled night I think I had ever seen. Peace overtook me and I thought what a wonderful gift I have been to still see the beauty and abundant joy in nature! From that night on I took to the outdoors for solace, and slowly but surely healed.

  10. What a beautiful thing to paint. It is very easy to think of happiness that came upon me when I least expected it. when my first husband was killed in a car crash I was devastated. I didn't leave the house for months. My young daughter worried about me. Then one day I woke up and decided I had had enough, I wasn't going to let this break me. So I went to a grief support group and there I found those who had experienced the same thing. After a few months of going I met a quiet, kind man. Time heals and this man is now my husband of almost 12 years and every day he lights my life with joy and happiness. :-)

  12. Cori, beautiful hand painted candle plate.. how lovely! I think that if we hope on something then it come to us in the most unexpected time often leaving us very happy. There a lot of those instances and right now my mind just went to one of my artwork being published in the 100 Illustration book because having it chosen and published is a dream come true in itself. :)

Happiness is finding a little secret visitor in my garden after we lost our dear Bandit ( love Bird ) two days before..... a baby racoon, another masked bandit came inside our garage and right up to the door, we were watching Zorro when he showed up.......imagine the coincidence....NOT!

A little angel came to say goodbye I think.
