It's the artist's job to create sunshine when the sun fails.
~Romain Rolland
Well, I believe we are all artists so I guess this means all of us!
I'll be drawing a name from those who comment below or on the Sacred Arts Studio Facebook page and the winner will receive this magnet! A nice little reminder to put in your space! Please answer the following question in your comment...
When it's gloomy, how do you prepare yourself to "make sunshine"?
Remember... you're all artists.. Whether your art is painting, music, cooking, friendship, mothering...
How do you give yourself a boost to outpour sunshine in your work when everything around you seems dim?
I'll announce the winner next week right here so make sure you check back! Now on to this week's winner!
For my little nightingale muse bookmark, I put all your names in my little nest bowl. I said a little prayer sending you safety and peace while I wrote your name...
And, by process of elimnation, the winner is...
Victoria!

A special welcome today to my friends from Paint Party Friday , as well as Gussy Sews . And a wave hello to those who found me today through some linkie love on Kind Over Matter (hey I've seen that painting!) and Art Muse Dog ~ Share the Creative Journey. Thanks Amanda (squared) and Carol!

ReplyDeleteHmmm, I love all the beauty on your pages. Your creativity shows! Music gives me a boost of sunshine when things feel dim <3 (Loving the gussy sews inspiration! http://mamahhh.com/?p=1461 )
ReplyDeleteVery nice work. Haven't seen you before on PPF so if this is your first, nice to meet you. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteSome people see life, or the weather as gloomy. I don't. I've been through really rough times, but I always try to look at the positive side of things. If it rains everything looks greener and becomes more plush! The sun always shines on my life, whether it be a cozy fireplace, a smile from my kids, a great cup of coffee... I see sunshine in every area of my life and feel blessed!Sometimes when life throws me a curve ball I treat myself well! It helps! Great colors in your magnet! Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeletewhat a bright and cheerful happy magnet! I love the bookmark too - congrats to victoria!
ReplyDeletewhen it gets gloomy in my world, i just take some "me" time...that always helps! and sometimes it helps by browsing bookstores, too- happy ppf
Love the magnet. I live in Oregon so I have lots of gray days that have no sun. I do my best to paint happy pictures with blue skies. Sunsets are also nice to paint.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful a soul you have! I love the names and prayers in the bowl with your sweet little bird art!
ReplyDeleteMy sunshine moments actually come when it is rainy and grey outside. THAT is when my soul is content. So living in hot dry Texas is a challenge. I have CDs with sounds of rain and storms. Music always helps to bring sunshine!
Wishing you a SUPERB PPF!
Victoria is a lucky girl! That is a beautiful bookmark.
ReplyDeleteNow for the question: how do I make sunshine when I am gloomy? My daughter goes straight to the kitchen and bakes chocolate chip cookies....I usually head to the kitchen for a cup of coffee or a huge glass of water and head outside to my shady spot in the yard in the porch swing hanging in a tree. I can watch the sun rise, or the sun set or just watch the mist rise across the landscape or the tractor plowing a field or feeding cows. I can see for miles. It is really relaxing and a great place to reflect.
I really really love the sun in the 1st picture! Gorgeous!!!best regards Anja
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful- both the art and the sentiment- I LOVE it! And congrats to Kiki- can't think of a more deserving winner!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF (a day late ;))
Stephanie
I love your nightingale bookmark/tag. It is so beautiful.
ReplyDeletebeautiful art work as always cori :) the sun and the bookmark are wonderful!!
ReplyDeletehmm.. the way i "make sunshine" is mainly through nature. like the way flower petals curve, bird song, waves.. the design of nature is awe inspiring and for me, looking at beautiful things like a waterfall, make me think to myself, if i wasn't here i wouldn't be able to experience the earth's beautiful surroundings!
No, you weren't too late for doughnuts, I saved one just for you.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sunshine, I make the sun shine by finding some time alone in nature, usually it's on my breaks at work, Love my family but as I'm never alone that's what I need to make me think straight.
ReplyDeletebeautiful magnet Cori and congrats to the winner! As for your question: I always pray whenever I am down. I will also do some things that will uplift my spirit like read a book, take a walk, photograph something, paint, rest, draw.. the possibilities are endless! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLucky Victoria!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sun!! It cheers me up just looking at it!
What do I do when I am feeling gloomy? If the sun is out, I go look at it - so your magnet would work for me! If cloudy I sometimes go to the brightest room and other times look at art and photos that make me happier or be with people. (Other times I just through myself into work.)
Love the beautiful sun magnet! And the bookmark is gorgeous! When I am gloomy, I go to my studio and paint. It usually lifts my mood. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF! Love your sun!
ReplyDeleteWhen it's gloomy I like to be surrounded with flowers. Real flowers, painted flowers, flowers on textiles. And lots of color. All of that color is so much more intense when it's grey and dreary.
Congratulations, Victoria!
ReplyDeleteI love the quote. I'm gonna go create some sunshine! It has been cloudy and rainy for days.
I'm not complaining. Mother earth needs the rain.
Loving the sunshine which warms me from the winter from down under. Well Done!
ReplyDeleteThe colors in this are beautiful!!! How wonderful to have such bright beautiful sunshine no matter the time of day or time of year :)
ReplyDeleteI try to put on a smile even when I don't feel like smiling... sometimes just the physical act of smiling makes me feel better :) And of course when all else fails, there is always doughnuts! ha!

Hello sister Cori Lynn Berg!
ReplyDeleteSorry to drop by late here and thank you for your encouragement, love and friendship.
The vibrant painting above is so appealing, I am starting to imagine how it will look like when it's display in an exhibition.
Too bad I miss the draw to your little nightingale muse bookmark. It's so beautiful and I hope you will produce more art pieces like this in the future!
Take care and bye!
